Return to Office 4/1 Model

Alrigh everybody- be honest. How does everyone feel about working 4 days a week from Monday to Thursday with only Friday as a remote option and very little flexibility?

So frustrating when these temporary leaders act like we aren’t invested in the success of the brand. Many employees are with the brand for 10, 15, or 20 years, while SLT rotate out every few years. The inflation we’ve experienced over the last few years means our pay checks don’t go as far and the annual adjustments aren’t keeping up. For many of us this isn’t just extra money on gas and maintenance, it’s after school care or deciding if or kids can do sports or other after school activities. The info they put out has no details just the concept of a plan. Who gets to decide what’s acceptable, your line manager? Maybe they’re trying this as a soft layoff, can’t re-org teams 5 years in a row and think people won’t be on to you.

As long as the is delivered should not matter where you work from.
But if those micromanagers are in the office their teams should be there too, so the managers can stress them directly.
The company is anyway in free fall from culture perspective abd soon enough a hit in the numbers will come.
Lots of people work overtime to cover for incompetent managers, while other teams in support functions are living the dream.
Even in IT there are lots of leeches, usually wife of some big manager or relative.....no matter how many reorgs these people who were invisible will never remain without a job.
Someone commented this is capitalism....is called nepotism. The company has plenty of it.
The company is known in the area already as having bad culture and people not being motivated. You cannot run and you cannot hide from a toxic culture.

If people are doing their jobs they won’t have an issue. If people are disappearing, continually missing deadlines, and not showing up they’ll find themselves being asked to leave.

Policies like this exist to be enforced when needed.

Now we need to do the same in Germany. Even after VLP, many need to either show up and start working or be fired

That should be the punishment for all people that have been less then on average 3 days per week in the office over the last few months. For all others that are responsible, 3 days works well as long as the managers align team is in on some core days.
