Thread regarding Mutual of America Life layoffs

Think before you post it’s not that hard to be a good person

So many posters here are so naive, foolish, and ignorant.
And no this is not an Executive or HR. This is someone who reads the ridiculous posts that are made. Personal attacks on people whether current or former employees. Say you did know them or met them you don’t actually know what you are talking about when you say names on this thread. People have families. People worked hard to keep the company going or are currently working to keep it going and let me guess either you are either a retiree who sat around in the “good ole days” and are collecting your pension. You poor thing you retired and lost your health benefits.. nobody has those anymore. Move on! Are you a current employee talking trash about your leaders waiting to collect a severance? You are part of the problem. Go. Move on and be happy. You are obviously not happy at Mutual of America.
You are a former employee just griping to gripe? Start rumors, spread rumors, or attack people’s characters… grow the F up!
So many names have been said on this thread and it’s gross. How would you feel if people attacked your character? Made stuff up about you? Go live life. Be happy.
If you are retired be supportive of the company you played a role in building. If you are a former employee be glad you moved on if you hate the company so much. If you are a current employee put the work in and try and be part of the change instead of betting against it. If you were laid off realize you can still find happiness elsewhere. Life is too short to hold grudges, be envious of others success, and be so miserable in your own life you try and bring others down.

About foolishness and naivety look to:

Romans 16:18

"For such persons do not serve our Lord Christ, but their own appetites, and by smooth talk and flattery they deceive the hearts of the naive."

Bottom line is that there needs to be a check on the Board of Directors and Executive Management because their words and actions can't be trusted. Some might be foolish and naive, but not stupid.

You know that men are guilty once they begin invoking their "families."

MOA hasn't generated an operating profit in years, and eventually the company will run out of real estate assets to sell, so it's only a matter of time before the company surplus is depleted and the pension becomes insolvent. Former employees have very real financial reasons to care about the ongoing struggles of the company. The people responsible deserve to be named & shamed.

Honestly, these threads show a remarkable amount of restraint. I would love to have an open forum in which we could discuss specific complaints to HR that got swept under the rug over the past decade. Just my (former) field office alone could cover a few pages, and I'm sure every single field office has its own horror stories.

I used to enjoy watching "The Office," but after two and a half years of working under Tyrone Golatt & his stooges, I can't watch more than two minutes of that show before I have to turn it off. The Michael Scott character is just too real now.

Just compare the damage to Mutual of America's financials and reputation from before Severin & friends took over to today. Compare the employee count. Compare the credit ratings. The results speak for themselves.

You people have NOTHING to be proud of.
