Thread regarding IBM layoffs

WatsonAI HR has never ever answered any of my questions.

Here I am using WatsonAI internally for IBM AskHr. And, not once has it ever answered any of my questions. WatsonAI is the d-mbest AI on the planet. Period.

If it makes you feel any better, your manager and every other has to use it too. And all have to wait 48 hours for a response where it is a bot providing a non answer that solves nothing, then you get another bot auto response that says case closed. lol. Can we decide when our HR question is answered and closed? iBM HR bot says NO. Case closed.

As many of you know, playing with AIs can be addictive. Even as an outsider, you can try Granite. It does not take long to find it hallucinating. It makes up nonsense including, sometimes, made up words. It gets scientific facts just plain wrong but tells a convincing story to back up its claim. I have definitely asked true/false questions of Copilot, ChatGPT, Gemini and Granite. Three out of four answered one way and Granite was sure of the opposite.

I'm not sure if Granite drives the Ask bots (the IT support Ask bot is particularly horrible) but if it does, beware! In its current state, Granite is not really the best of the best.

The reason I am not sure if Granite drives the Ask bots is because they are super primitive. The have a very limited repertoire of topics that they can pontificate about. They redirect any question to one of the topics they are trained on. They are so primitive that I don't think you need a major, modern LLM to implement; they are last decade AI at best. The thing about last decade AI was that there was usually a way to escape from it and get to person who could at least sympathize with you while not knowing the actual answer. With the Ask bots, if you have a complicated question, you are in a doom loop.

You could take transcripts of all the Earnings Calls, feed them into Watson, and have an AskCEO and AskCFO bot and save tens of millions a year by RAing these guys.

With all these Ask tools someone should Ask Alvind why he’s a pompous j-rk

Or Krabanaugh with his obsession with Upskilling

Or Slob Thomas . Why does a middle aged man dress like he’s in some startup

You would have better luck going to the Oracle In Delphi and getting a straight answer (LOL) than from WatsonAI. Nothing but a load of bulls droppings from India if anything...the dimwits go back and forth with the same garbage that you get with the IBM India Helpdesk support till your patience wears thin, your eyes sc--w up, you get a terrible migrane and you stop responding in sheer frustration. That's what Alvind and Gin(ni) and Tonic have made of IBM AI.

Never works. They just want you to give up and go away. If you have the stamina you can figure out how to keep asking 8 times and then it will go to India or God knows where and someone will Slack you at 3AM. Then you lose 3 days back and forth and then just give up. Glad I am out. I could not take a single day when Rob "like my hoodie and sneakers and stupid paper slides yet" Thomas.
