If the economy turns around, do you anticipate any Bank of America layoffs? Any chatter, news or rumors?

ah... the annual "hiring freeze". So predictable.

no layoffs that would cost any $, so only the cheap seats need to fear.

As for an actual "severance" package.... fuh-getta-bout-it!

these geezers need to get a new playbook.

Wash. Rinse. Repeat. Yawn. Snore.

@g5
also, the big guy has stated during investor calls that one goal is to gradually reduce our total workforce. assuming that we keep dumping money into AI and also assuming that our AI is similarly unprofitable as the rest of the industry, the expenses will start piling up and we'll get even more lectures on efficiency and doing more with less. i.e. more responsibilities with less pay. on the back end there will be even more demand from the shareholders to squeeze as much productivity out of the people who work to keep this place afloat.

"If the economy turns around"
it won't. it will get worse after the US winter holidays. i'm expecting another "hiring freeze" pretty soon. i expect layoffs if the proverbial ship isn't turned around (so yes).

I do not know about layoffs, but there is a guarantee that I am not getting a bonus or merit increase in 2026. If I was laid off with a package, it would be make up for bonuses and merit increases not given in the past several years. I can chalk up that dream like everything else at BofA.

@OP Answer to question, NO!!!
