@OP Office of CTO?? LOL!! It's a bullsh-t role where they don't do anything substantive. Name one thing this department has done that substantially improves Dell's operational processes or product competitiveness?
@aa I got in 2 years ago. Definitely has some boys club energy, but they DO have reqs that are able to be applied to. Pay is good relatively. Workload is higher sometimes, and lower at others.
As far as "what do we do for dell", my understanding is patents (we made some lists for most patents produced), finding companies to buy, doing random 1 offs to help modernize dell, and then tool selection. Of course for larger dell impact it feels bad because we are having to wait fir the gears of bureaucracy to turn which is why it seems like we dont do much.
