This announcement is all bluster and misdirection. AT&T is suing California to turn off copper based phone service. That’s the only reason this investment announcement came out.

As someone who has to deal with CA regulations and all the other states, CA is an absolute mess. Absolute worst state to have to work with. They are so bad we considered not servicing them at all at one point and selling our interests there. Yes it is that bad. I’m surprised we are investing more.
