Flattening and Reorgs

Anticipating after these large numbers of people are off books (or before) , there will be a lot of shuffling of teams. Anyone know what happens when a Director or AD ends up without enough direct reports? Maybe there will still be enough employees left to re-allocate, but math-wise seems like there might be a lot of esp AD’s without the minimum number of people.
Wonder if the July target notifications will be like musical chairs for those without enough people left.

What about the retail/IHX reorg. The ihx avps reports to the vpgms who also have the retail directors that report to them. Seems kind of odd.

We’re gonna need more VPs to oversee it all.

Depends as always on relationships. I’ve seen situations where former Director gets demoted to AD as an IC direct report to AVP, gone outright, and stuck around somehow still as Director but nowhere near enough direct reports for span of control numbers. It’s ultimately going to come down to “how much is the AVP willing to stick their neck out for the Director” and is completely unpredictable to anyone not directly involved.
