I am so tired of scrolling past random selfies with captions pretending to be deep insights. What does your pose have to do with industry trends? Nothing. We need LinkedIn to stay useful for networking and opportunities, not become another social feed full of empty posts. This is getting ridiculous.

successful people do not need LinkedIn
@k9 still waiting?
One needs to post 3-5xs a week to bend the algorithm to show up in searches for recruiters. Hate the game and just keep scrolling.
Also name some other recruiting sites that are better? Dice, indeed, zip recruiter are far more popular with scammers because they are scrapped with all your contact info.
So name better sites…I’ll wait.
LinkedIn = Bullsh-t
@bg found HR
Why not post this on LinkedIn instead of this site. You assume that everyone uses LinkedIn when you post about it here.
LinkedIn is just as bad as FB or Insta. All of the posts are "I'm open to offers" or "I obtained certification ABC" or "my company is so amazing it invented strawberries". And of course there's always the odd post from G2 or some other Steve Jobs wannabe claiming to know the secret to infinite growth twice as fast as everyone else.
LinkedIn is an essential tool for job searching and networking. How people use it is up to each individual, not designed for your personal likes or approval.
@a3 If not for LinkedIn, I would have never found my network when I moved from Canada to US. Or any of my jobs. Like when I moved from FL to GA, back to FL to TX, and back to FL. If you don't know how to use it as the tool that it is, that's on you. It's helped me immensely to find customers, partners, industry connections, and referrals to jobs by people in my network. Good luck to you if you were laid off, finding work without it.

Way too late.

We'll all agree if you agree to keep thelayoff.com on topic.
