Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

CiscoLRLive

Q: How does it feel to be one of the ones who was LR harvested, whilst the Bread and Circuses of CiscoLive! commences?

A: It feels pretty sh£tty.

What a joke this all had been. To the old teammates who won't reply to texts, emails, or LinkedIn messaging...F-off, the lot of you.

“Don’t let yourself get attached to anything you are not willing to walk out on in 30 seconds flat if you feel the heat around the corner.” -- Neil McCauley line from Heat (1995)

You need to be a cold MF just like McCauley to live through a Cisco LR. Go watch that movie and enjoy.

@a5 I bet you are just a fantastic team player. The point is I spent several years working with an extended team. Trying to go "above and beyond" to make sure they felt like they were "part of the team" and accommodated. I've even had some of the same people that won't return LinkedIn messages or texts over to our home for a group dinner event. Maybe you are one of those people; small world.

The reason I'm contacting them? To use them as a reference for the next job. Looks like that's not going to be happening.

So yes, it was mostly a fake f$%&ing culture, and I was stupid enough to buy into it. F$%^ Cisco's Bu%%sh$t fakes. The lot of you.

When I was LR'd in 2019, almost everyone at Cisco who I thought would support me in my job search, ghosted me. Although I have no explanation for it, I think this is commonplace amongst those who've lost their jobs.
