Thread regarding Optum layoffs

I would like your advice

For those who chose to leave after a reorganization and successfully landed a new role—how did you approach it?

This reorganization has been incredibly draining. I’m grateful to still be employed, but I’ve taken on responsibilities that are scoped nearly three grade levels above my current role, and I’m realizing it’s time to move more strategically.

I’m open to contract work and seriously considering submitting my two weeks once I have a solid transition plan. I’m feeling depleted, but I know I need to start taking steps toward something better.

For those who have made this kind of move, what helped you navigate the transition?

I quit Optum last year for a better job, but then was let go from that a year later. I'll tell you one thing--you do not want to be looking for a job in this climate. Hiring and the job market are broken.

@am save a few months of living expenses and some. Then quit. Recharge for a couple weeks, clear your head.. beach.. mountain.. family.. Friends whatever works. Come back, up skill while continuously applying. You WILL find something..I found mine in 4 months and LOVING it. Same base pay but might better insurance, unlimited PTOs, 6% 401k match, raise is matched to inflation minimum but much higher depending on performance, better bonus. You can do it!

Network with colleagues who found employment externally. Have a few versions of your resume for different types of roles. Keep trying, don’t give up.

I would save a financial cushion if you can. This can be the difference from feeling trapped to empowered and in control. Download the past 2-4 annual reviews to mine for resume bullets. Take a few days off just to clear your mind and update your resume. Talk to recruiters.

I felt the same way but was laid off begining of this year. Got a lower grade job exernally ,but a much better culture. I don't feel stressed at the end of the day. I'm hoping I can move up in my new company.
