Thread regarding Centene Corp. layoffs

Conspiracy?

So if one applies for VSP and gets declined. Supposedly they can still lay off that same employee later but now without the additional bonus weeks offered in VSP. Isn't that questionable? A possible law suit? I mean if they deny a significant amount of applicants and then lay them off in August, that would be decent savings for them... somehow this entire situation makes me think of " Attica! Attica!" shouted by Al Pacino in the 1975 film Dog Day Afternoon.....Pacino, playing a desperate bank robber cornered by police, uses the chant to reference the 1971 Attica prison riot. He does this to rally the crowd and turn public sympathy against aggressive police tactics. Can't remember how it worked out for Al. ..

@jv Just my 2 cents! We all have our own perspectives. If this isn't your cup of tea, feel free to just scroll on by. It's totally free to ignore, so no need to get worked up over it! 😊

@j9

Here you go with this same post content, verbatim, copy/pasting it onto thread after thread, in the Centene section of this site!

https://www.thelayoff.com/centene

You are very determined to try to do some sort of damage control here, by copy/pasting that same B.S. on thread after thread. "Leadership holds all the cards"...LOL

Is that why "leadership" had to backtrack and change the VSP policy, once they saw the deluge of numbers of people who applied for it? Suddenly the "leadership" tone changed from "take it or leave it" (where most people took the offer) to "hey wait a minute guys, we need to change things up a bit here...we need more time to process things."

GTFO with your B.S.
Everyone can see through it, and you're fooling no one.

Honestly, no one knows what leadership will do, and they hold all the cards. Speculating on every rumor isn't going to change the outcome. In the end, it boils down to two options: accept the Voluntary Separation Program (VSP) or risk an involuntary layoff. It’s a financial decision for the company, not a personal one. My best advice is to stop stressing over the noise and focus on preparing for whichever scenario comes your way.

@b5 normally I would agree with you but with these incompetent "people" running the show and the circus we have been enduring the last few years, anything is possible!
In one of our previous town halls, the attorney in charge of the centene counsel bragged about how much they are relying on AI to complete their jobs lately so....

@OP it’s naive to think this hasn’t been run past an army of lawyers

Thats been my question this whole time... I declined the VSP - now - kinda worried, to be honest, but started searching for a new job nonetheless.
