We were told a completely different story about a leadership exit in Finance. Total lack of transparency. Shameful

@27c the biggest lie you are told is that HR is there to support you. So much bad behaviour by senior leadership and HRs role seems to just be to cover up and push out staff that are affected. We need male staff at Illumina to step up to support women because there is no chance HR will help.

Strong evidence makes complaint more credible and harder to dismiss! I llumina's HR department acts merely as a rubber stamp.

@hm In legal terms, when a manager promises job-related benefits or threatens negative consequences to obtain s-xual favors, it is called Quid Pro Quo S-xual Harassment

I heard about this in the office today and googled it. I'm so shocked to read this :-
A 2026 lawsuit filed in San Diego Superior Court against Illumina, Inc. and former executive Santosh Padmagirison alleges severe s-xual misconduct, grooming, and abuse of power against a subordinate employee. The complaint claims Padmagirison coerced the employee while Illumina HR failed to act, subsequently subjecting the victim to retaliation after she reported the abuse

Never tolerate misconduct, especially s-xual misconduct. Under these conditions, I wonder who would be comfortable working in that team, especially with bad leadership throwing a farewell. Shame!

The responses from @hn and @hm — who appear very likely to be the same individual attempting to avoid standing alone, are clearly victim-blaming. They demonstrate a profound lack of empathy and a fundamental misunderstanding of what it’s like to be in a compromising situation where someone feels pressured into doing something they do not want to do. If you’ve never experienced that kind of pressure, you’re fortunate but that privilege and absence of empathy, should never be used to dismiss or invalidate those who have.

This looks serious. I still remember the farewell meeting for the Senior Director of Finance Systems that I attended. The boss spent a large amount of money to implement data science in finance, which never actually helped us. Without solid evidence, nobody could ask him to resign at Illumina (- a long timer). I feel sorry for the lady if she had to go through this. We never know what somebody has to submit to in order to keep a job.

@jn Even if you're correct, why is this relevant?

@dc this is a clear relationsip gone bad with promises of promotions that never happened. just reading what happend leaves tons of holes especially the ma---------g in front of her "at work?" and not instantly calling it out loudly and after all of that getting in his car to "perform or-l s-x" why would you even get in the car in the first place. this is a clear relationship gone bad

theres some major holes in stories here. she willing got in the car and su-ked his di-k. if this was such an issue why would you enter the vehicle at all. also the ma---------g in front of her doesnt make any sense as any sane person would have loudly called that out. sounds more like there was a relationship with promises that were never followed through on and someone got mad.

Bad... as I remember there was a LinkedIn post from another team member in that group about a toxic culture.
