Any inspiring stories here on how you made the move to the big city leaving comfort zone to save your own job? What sacrifices you had to make and how did you decide to be mentally tough for the family to do so?

Move to Dallas has been a great experience. Almost said no, glad I changed my mind. If you want to do different jobs and network for opportunities it’s here. Most people that post they moved and got cut were probably poor performing or poor attitudes. So much to do here as well outside the office.
I don’t know if it’s me, but I have not known a single person who got laid off after they moved. I am only seeing all of that in this forum. Which orgs do they belong to that got laid off after they moved?

Sure you did.
If the move is an upgrade from where you currently live, then go for it. But I’m going to bet that you still end up laid off within a year anyways.
Tell with T is a fools game. They’ll fire you anyway!
If you are asked to move then consider yourself laid off. If you actually move then you will soon after be laid off. Dont be a fool.
Each employees situation is unique and should be based on many underlying factors within the individuals decision making process. As an free individual, living in US, allows each one of us to determine those underlying factors bestowed upon us, it also not beyond comprehension to realize you have that choice and decide how you want to perceive it. We can also decide how we want to feel about it, look at it, address it etc.... hopefully getting the gist here: what works for one, does not work for all! There is no easy button in the game of life, bless you all
I moved to Dallas and was laid off in the most recent surplus action. I should have never moved for this company. What a mistake.
I moved two years ago and haven’t looked back. If you are being asked to move to Dallas, go for it!
