Not a surprise. The cost of operating clinics and hospitals has increased. A large part of the P&L is spent of labor. This is largely being led by the increase of living in both LA and SF. Many tactics have been used yo increase review. Increases in prices have provided a relief, but you can only increase so much. The elasticity of prices is being stretched to its breaking point. Also, an exodus of the profession is taking place. This is due to verbal and emotional abuse by clients and the desire to work less by the staff.

I worked in the field for over 20 years (18yrs with VCA).
