Question for those who have left for another job

If you get accept a position from a competitor, what do you do? Looking for legit advice. I have heard theyll shut down your access if you tell them. I am just not sure what to do and want to be prepared and consider my options.

I reached out to HR about documents and they sent like a book of my reviews but somehow I don't believe i received 'all documents' about me. I know there are manager desk files. I want those too. I wanna know what my manager thought and kept notes about me throughout my employment. How can I obtain that? Has anyone had any success and if yes, what information did you receive?

I left Wells just over a year ago. I searched the HR website, which stated a 30 day notice. (You don't have to give 30 days). I followed HR protocol, emailed my manager my letter of resignation, had my access cut off 3 days later and enjoyed a mini non-working severance before starting my new job. I was able to keep my benefits during that period as well.

I am so much happier with my work life after leaving Wells. A handful of my co-workers left within the next two months. We all touched based and talked about how much decompressing we experienced after leaving. Wells is abusive. They don't care about you. Every employee is 'head count' per Shart.

Easy answer. Leave. If you get the opportunity take it. Everywhere is better than WF.

@bh who still has personal files on a work PC?

Even if you do, how are you getting them off?

Notice requirements are imposed based on your officer title and can range 30, 60, or 90 days.

Failure to give the requested notice impacts your rehire status and restricted stock. They can cancel any shares waiting to vest and also clawback any shares that vested in the 12 months prior.

If neither of those negative impacts concern you, then don't worry about giving the required notice. This is all explained in Teamworks by searching "leaving Wells Fargo.

If you accepted a new position with another company, then remove all your personal files from your PC and let them know you are resigning. Who cares if the cut off your access. They may even remove you from the premises immediately after you resign.

@a3 very obvious this person doesn't have any restricted stock as they seem very clueless.

If you tell them you are going to another firm normally they turn your access off immediately. Like within the hour due to security protocol. As far as the 30/60 day requirement that is for higher level employees & can affect if you retain restricted stock rights. & yes they can do that.

OP here, I also have heard there is this 30 or 60 day notice they want if you're a specific title, but if I dont think thats reasonable. I work in an at-will state and didn't accept any shares they were trying go offer, so Idk if that matters. Just don't want Wells coming back at me somehow for something stupid
