How can they lay off AMs, while turning around and immediately adding new AMs?
It seems like what might be really happening is CDW is trying to re-set the payroll with lower paid employees and foregoing the experience, expertise and customer relationships of AMs who were paid more competitively.
I’m sure that’s also happening in other departments.
What could go wrong?🤦🏻♂️

It's funny that people just getting fired think they know all the inner workings of CDW.
It's ok...just read all of the other topics and posts on this site and check LinkedIn to see they not only let go the possibly underperformed but also those that had crucial roles but had a number too high with the current payroll leadership wants everyone on.
It's all belt tightening because shares dropped from 255 from a little over 1 year ago to today's 140 ish.

i am writing my first post and doing it from the USA. I can chew gum and work at the same time. I feel bad for you that you could only focus on one thing and couldn't multi-task. We are so powerful that we are forcing a 30 year old to come on a site of a company he no longer works for and hated when he left, because younger people are speaking up. You are soft. I don't work for scraps like you. I also was over 100% for my tenure regardless of the fake inflated goals they assigned to me.
I left behind the dumpster fire is right but I definitely didn't contribute to it.

@dr Ha ha! I am newer to CDW too and knew some of the coworkers they let go. Those shirts are now on more qualified and smarter people that the former coworker they used to belong to. Hit the road old people. You failed and CDW stumbled. Now we will kick a-s with us under 25 coworkers. Losers!
You were let go and you should have saved money you made and retired like I plan to do. I am just out of college and now with CDW but instead of crying, we will dominate and succeed unlike y'all that allowed the stock to tumble. All companies are not doing that. I left CDW and joined a company that has faster growth and really cares about its coworkers. We have a ton of seniority here and I have already pulled a former cdw customer to us. The grass is truly greener on the other side. Stop complaining and do something. I finally did and am very happy I did. Like Nike says, just do it.

All answers don't come from college textbooks. College degrees aren't worth much anymore and are watered down anyways.
Regardless... if all corporations like Cisco, do what's being done... that explains why they go through periods of ups and downs.
The funny thing with CDW is it never really had a down period before Leahy because leadership didn't operate like other corporations and leaders. Example is 2008 when everyone was laying off 1000's and large percentages of their workforce, CDW laid off a few hundred.
Personally I learned never to depend on anyone but myself when I was working as I saw the backstabbing and favoritism. I worked hard for years and saved until I saw this storm coming.
Glad I left before all this. I felt stuck myself because being in a sales company, you always feel like you need or want more money. I freed myself though.
Never felt richer. Just wish I could by back the last few years I worked under these mo--ns which definitely don't deserve the millions they take while failing the coworkers they supposedly lead.

Tenured or "better" coworkers worked to get the pay they were earning.
You just haven't worked long enough or gotten lucky ("sometimes good luck is disguised as hard work" - per Krasny).
The people laid off was to cover for the bad fiscal decisions by leadership.
They'll have to keep cost cutting and buying back stock because certain levels of profitable growth are expected and that has to make up for the mismanaged acquisitions that resulted in the loss of a billion+ $
I am heartbroken. They let go of people who were better than I was at my job and yet I am still here. I was cheaper than those that were let go.
This is textbook. I learned company's do this back in college in the 90s. Outsourcing to save costs, and lay off higher paid employees to hire on cheaper to save on costs. It is a common practice. This is not a new practice corporate America has been doing. Companies like Cisco, have been outsourcing since then. Do not be shocked your old role someone was already hired for it doing the job cheaper. Everyone in Corp America is disposable. Including CDW. Next job. Save your money. If still employed at CDW and pay is good. Save your money.

It would seem both versions apply to the current situation.
CDW situation is bad. Company is on life support or in hospice.
Maybe a new hospital or doctor could resuscitate the company but those brain surgeons running things don't want to give up thier fat salaries and stock options.
What do I know...maybe putting an attorney in charge or a Sales and Technology company was the revolutionary thing to do.

you'd think after letting the outsourced group cost CDW millions (my supervisor wouldnt say any exact numbers, but said "whatever high number youre thinking of, add a 0 at the end") that they would realize you get what you pay for. I'm sure the customer's rotating sales reps looks great for CDW's reputation

VP no---n has a newer post showing like a hiring class worth of interns and that's just one bunch.

You are correct. Positions were posted on LinkedIn some a week, some only several days prior to the layoff. Many of the same positions! Older, tenured people who have higher salaries launched.
