Thread regarding Mutual of America Life layoffs

**Mutual of America -- Labor Complaint !!** Shocking

In early Feb 2026, NYU Langone Hospitals sued Mutual of America's comprehensive health plan over a labor complaint. In 2021, an employee gave labor, and Mutual of America didn't pay the hospital over $22K for the health & care of the newborn baby.

the hospital was in the network but talks broke down & mutual would not budge. this created an extreme amout of anxiety & consternation for several parties.

Check Out NY Supreme Case Index Number.
INDEX NO. 650690/2026
RECEIVED NYSCEF: 02/03/2026

The case hasn't been dismissed yet so it appears settlement talks are underway.

@w3 So you aren't trying to make Mutual look bad? You are so full of it.
Did daddy never say "I love you" to you?

@sk must have hit your nerve & not ur funny bone. hmmm. Very suspicious. We are not making moa look bad. Moa made itself look bad in this situation. They basically asked for it. New born baby. Young mother. loyal employee. A lawsuit nearly 4 years after the fact with no intervening communications about appeals don’t add up. Facts. Network Provider. Employee Covered. Claim Denied. Hospital tries to settle. Gets no where. And sues as a last resort. No wonder Anthem is denying far more claims now.

@OP SHOCKING ... someone on this board tries to make Mutual look bad without knowing the facts. Heard it had something to do with the former employee missing a deadline. Also heard that Mutual didn't know there was an issue until the lawsuit was filed and that it investigated the situation and addressed it. Don't know the details, but I do know that you clearly are a person who is just trying to make the company look bad in any way that you can. Not helpful to us current employees. Please stop it.

HOLY SH:T ! WOW

We'd like to learn the back story on this one.

that is what you get with a self funding arrangement using general assets. Greater incentives to deny claims especially when companies are in financial trouble. The past two yrs, there are more Pre auth hoops to jump through, higher deductibles & co pays.
