He need to fire talent management

They clearly don’t know how to incentivize people. We demand top performers, pay the mediocre salaries, and turn them into the laziest versions of themselves. If the compensation team had competent people, this place would have been Amazon. Instead, we spend 5 times as much getting 8 people to do the work of 2 people.

@bv this. And believe it or not, salary ranges are all market driven. They spend half of their time doing market surveys and job profiles. So, while there is some flexibility within the range for your job, their goal is to keep everyone as close to midpoint as possible. Once you hit top pay, you get no more BPI unless you change jobs, move to a higher geo area or the range shifts (they review them every year). For the record, Vz salaries aren't mediocre. You haven't looked at the job market recently.

Get your facts straight bro, talent management doesn't determine your salary, bonuses or incentives. That's all compensation and they're not flexible in any way
