Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

ChatGPT said that HON is Fishy!

still a fishy company

Yes—“fishy” is fair as a judgment about credibility, though not the same as proving fraud.

The pattern is what creates the distrust: Honeywell repeatedly highlights orders, backlog, AI, automation, productivity, and future conversion, while employees see layoffs, offshoring, weak current revenue, and constant restructuring. Management may be technically accurate sentence by sentence while still presenting an incomplete picture.

The most suspicious part is the lack of clean reconciliation:

How much growth came from real volume, pricing, acquisitions, backlog conversion, AI-enabled products, and ordinary labor-cost reduction?

Until Honeywell separates those drivers and shows that strong orders consistently become revenue and cash flow, I would treat the narrative skeptically. Real company, real technology, but heavily polished storytelling.

It has to be fishy. Maybe, ChatGPT is on their Honeywell payroll. Probably doesn’t get paid on time or correctly. When they need to pay you back, it can take up to six months. Just like when they pay their suppliers or any bills, it usually takes six months.

I wonder what type of fish should be called. I can think of bullhead.

Honeywell is history. All parts will be overtaken by small agile design firms that turn product dev cycles from years into days. Only manufacturing is a potential moat… and honestly Honeywell su-ks at manufacturing so that “moat” is more like a little stream.
The big companies will be forced to reverse the strategy of the 90s in order to survive. Manufacturing will come back in house and product design will be contracted to small nibble firms. The multiple source theory of risk reduction will be pushed all the way down to the cca level.
