The sad thing about ageist discrimination is that one 50+ year old runs rings around a team of millennials. Good luck without us and our work ethic.
Sadly that’s the way it works and older workers are the only demographic that can be routinely displaced with impunity and no repercussions. Ageism is the only actual discrimination in the U.S now.
Perhaps the 90 new hires will work out better than the tenured employees who were let go? Displacements are always based upon performance. Nobody wants to displace an effective contributor. Generally in layoffs we all understand the choices within our workgroups.
Charlie has been gone for 4 1/2 years of no layoffs thanks to Todd in January.
Said new hires will be layoffs eventually. BNYM wants youngsters and lays them off when they become old-timers, replacing them with a fresh batch of youngsters.
Jolen is spending time with this feel-good show when here process for downsizing involves stalking employees and marching them out the door with 2 minutes warning. But at least she has the sickle cell and no Y chromosome (I think).
