Heard in 2 different meetings today that they're tracking the in office time now, and that non compliance with the 3/2 rule "will be considered and evaluated". Scare tactics or truth?

BEWARE: Some companies are starting to monitoring your work location through your computer. This will tell if you're in the office or working remote. I would Subject if you going into the office, please scan your badge. Their pulling Badge and computer location reports.
Wonder if they are targeting those that never show up first? I haven't heard anyone that comes in 1-2 days most weeks being called out for it.
Badge checks are happening.
Truth!! A coworker hasn't been going in since the beginning of Covid. Our manager told her last month she had 2-3 weeks to make arrangements for her daughter and be in the office 3 days a week.
Thank you! Many people have been wondering what action would be taken and you are the first person to actually respond with a real situation.
Called my manager first. Asked why I had not been coming in. Told me I had 2 weeks to be in and in compliance with the 3/2
On the precipice of a banking crisis, seeing the main concern is how an administrative policy is enforced, tells you a great deal about the culture
@3ucq+1lE8vBpG Care to elaborate on that call?
For those trying to comply, are you counting a day off (vaca, personal, holiday, etc) entered in workday as a office day? For example if there is a bank holiday that week or you use 1 vacation day to extend the weekend, going in 2 days that week vs 3. Have yet to see any guidance on how time off plays into the 3/2 rule? At our competitors that strictly track 3/2 (have friends that work across the street) they count a day off as an office day.
I got a call this week from someone in HR since not going in
Safest to come in until things settle down in the future
Any company forcing workers back into the office better not claim to have type of "green" initiatives or support for "green" anything.
And yes, it's probably true because they monitor everything.
If they don't like you, then everything is a problem.
If they like you, then enjoy your short commute.
3/27......
Really going to depend on your manager, org, and the top-down pressure being applied at the end of the day.
CEO level only sees generic attendance numbers, if anything. Doubt it will be something HR monitors and enforces directly, too much raw data and requires actual work. They'll tell managers, be stern about it, and then expect them to monitor your in-office attendance and enforce it (doubt your direct manager will get access to badge data). We'll see how it plays out.
Total truth. We just head it today. Again. This has been going on for months and nothing is done to the people not complying. Today however the message was more firm. It was even addressed “to those out on the call who were called back into the office and you have not made arrangements with HR, you need to come back in 3 days min a week.”
If they don’t it was said the situation would be addressed. We shall see.
Completely agree. And can fire without severance
I’m surprised how few people realize this is part of leadership’s strategy to incite people to quit so they can avoid “announcing layoffs”
Bogus. Leaders don’t even get reports- sounds like there’s some issue with circulating that due to various circumstances and situations. They can’t differentiate who’s WFH due to a COVID exposure and not burning sick time since they’re capable of working from home, etc. it’s just too complicated. But managers can manage their directs and notify HR if teammates aren’t coming into the office at all.. but there is a hiring feeeze and workloads are already strenuous on all of us, so then there’s that….
Heard they would be tracking it more closely moving forward. We'll see if they take a heavy approach on that front, but with workloads increasing because of the hiring freeze and poor comps, probably not the brightest idea on the bank's part...
