Reason 1,659 why I hate RTO.. they want us to plan engagement activities- but not everyone can RTO, so we have to “get creative”.. but we can’t just send gift cards, can’t get home addresses in order to include those with accommodations, but we have to include those who aren’t in the office, and can’t figure out a day for those onsite because some WFH on certain days (but must do something to include all)… I mean, how unreasonable is this request?! Good grief! Please know- the leaders get all the credit for employee engagement, yet a handful of us line-level employees are volun-told to do all the work and we dread it. People complain when we do snacks, others complain when we do healthy options… we’re told “well, you can’t make everyone happy..”…. Uh.. yes you can! Do gift cards, give them the $$ from the budget via awards, or just let us WFH and keep your $9 per quarter! People are sick of the gross food we’re FORCED to order from the cafe. Honestly, just stop. It’s not engagement.. it’s mostly just a waste of money (and time & resources)!

I thought 3/27 is the big RIF day at WFC
3/27 is a big RTO day.
Enough with the 3/27 stuff. This is an anonymous site. Either spill it or don’t say anything. Like wtf?
3/27 folks
@xde+1lKoSY6H Technically it’s all taxable. They do monthly/quarterly spending which doesn’t fall under “occasional” gifts for employees that skirt around the tax implications. They plug names into Concur when entering the expense reports.. which hits as taxable (even under $25 now).
@bmi+1lKoSY6H - probably plastic made in China that will end up in a landfill. So much for Our Commitment to the Environment.
Seriously, cannot make this shlt up. They are so stupid.
Agree 100%! And for some areas, add in the stress of having global teams, time zone differences and totally different holiday observations. Leadership tells the engagement team to “figure out how to make yourselves happy” after they receive the cr---y ratings, It’’s a joke.
Gift cards have tax implications. It’s too much of an administrative headache.
I WFH on medical accommodation and was UPS’d a fairly large box with a melted 100 grand chocolate bar, and some 99 cent store plastic toys enclosed in a plastic sandwich bag. My first thought before throwing everything in the garbage was “they could have just given everyone a gift card instead of wasting money on useless trash”…
