Don’t pi-s on our heads and tell us to be thankful it’s raining. The optics of granting 10 shares that vest over 3 years are very bad. For many of us that won’t make any difference in our lives but they’re making a big to do about it.
Yes, this is an employer/employee relationship but it’s perfectly reasonable to assume that management will uphold their end of the bargain, and be disappointed and frustrated when they don’t.
You have a free bonus.
You have free company stock.

It’s a bad thing because it doesn’t make up for reducing our bonus by that amount, nor taking away 12 months of earnings from my 401(k)

Damn right. They stole the bulk of our Pension plan. It was cut 5 times over 25 years. The vast majority received less than a third of what we were promised.
Can’t have your 401k match for 12-15 months, but here, have a piece of cake to make up for it, to celebrate shares that will change little in 3 years.

Bunch of fake excitement. The executives are trying to drum up in PIttsburgh by having cake to celebrate the propaganda and fake excitement over the BK shares we were each “given“.
Funny, they didn’t seem to have a similar party & fake excitement when they announced delaying our 401(k) match by 12 months
