Thread regarding Bank of America layoffs

Asking someone for badge access= you’re incompetent

Not sure if people just love acting helpless and incompetent, but everyone needs to know that ANYONE can request their own badge access to any site/floor and you can request it on behalf of your peers as well! Stop trying to reach out to “someone at that site” and asking them to do $h!t for you- we are all already doing the job at five people and we don’t need your responsibilities too.

If you say you’re “trying to track down an ACR”, you just sound incompetent and ignorant- go into Guardian and plug-in what you need! People seriously need to leverage the search bar on flagscape before acting like they have no idea what they’re supposed to do and bugging other people.

Apparently you don't know what ACR stands for. Access Control Representative, yes you are there to grant access to buildings. It's literally in your title. Talk about not wanting to fulfill your role. Ge-z

Never taken a badge access training and we use SAFE which restricts you to only requesting access in your site. Sounds like you need a new job if you can't handle the one you have now.

@2gnn+1mN0fpkg - with all due respect, I do not need to know what "Guardian" is b/c I have not been into the office in years.

And I won't ever RTO.

That said, even though overworked, if a fellow employee needs an assist, I am always happy to help.

@2gnn+1mN0fpkg and @OP+1mN0fpkg -- As for you, if you keep up the nasty attitude, I bet you won't be around much longer any way. There you go -- problem solved.

Haha! Sorry to break it to you, but yes, you are supposed to know what Guardian is! Sorry not sorry! It’s your responsibility! You also take MyLearning courses about badge access annually!

ACRs are NOT there to enter your access requests or be a POC to do your job! You enter your own requests and it doesn’t matter if the space is secure or not because all spaces are secure if you need access to big to begin with! If you aren’t permitted, it will get denied! What you don’t realize is that your point means nothing.. because what’s the difference between a random ACR entering what access you ask for vs. you entering what you need when someone still has to approve regardless!?!! Someone who has the authority will receive the request that YOU enter for whatever floor or building you desire… and they will approve it!

Honestly, you don’t even have to know what the program is called.. if you use that handy search bar on flagscape and type the words “badge access” IT WILL DIRECT YOU THERE!! The point is.. people act so incompetent when it’s not that hard to figure out.

Wait.. you think ACRs “volunteer” to be an ACR?! Ha! Nope! I promise nobody volunteers for that annoying as$ task.. which is why it would be great if any of the people responding to this actually knew you had the whole process worked. It’s their responsibility to know what guardian is and how it works- and how badge access is handled properly, but clearly all the people responding with negative comments towards the OP’s frustration are too ignorant to learn the process (and facts).. it’s just easier to keep asking somebody else to do it for them… incompetent.

I'm sure you're loved by all in the office. Maybe giving up some of those cats you have at home will help with stress.

You assume we have even heard of "Guardian". WTF is that?

Many floors are restricted (esp in brokerage and trading) and we do need someone at that site (or their designate) to permission it.

That said, wow, you must be on your last straw. Maybe take a personal day (or two or three...)

OP: Volunteers to do the access approvals and stuff
The People: "Hey can you help me with access and stuff?"
OP: Surprised Pikachu

Personally, I’m not interested in working for -or with -someone who is so inconsiderate and helpless that they can’t simply put in an access request. I’m plenty busy and don’t need to stop in the middle of my damn day and enter 50 people for their orgs on-site meeting in 20 min because they “couldn’t reach an acr”. Good grief! If they had just put the names in when they planned the meeting, the access would’ve been approved two minutes later.

Or…. People could use the system that the bank switched to with the intention of taking these obnoxious, inefficient, and inconvenient requests out of the ACR’s inbox and pings. Don’t be so helpless. Just enter your own damn access request so all the ACR’s have to do for their area is approve.. they switched to this system for several reasons and it defeats the purpose. If someone who doesn’t even know the individuals needing access is entering the justification for why they need it. If someone needs access, they need to enter their own justification and request so they have that responsibility. Again, there are many different reasons the implemented this new procedure and program!

The whole point of them, making it accessible for everyone in guardian is to take the burden off of the ACR’s… so when you put the request in it gets directed to the appropriate yours for that area and they will approve… they don’t also need to enter the request for you. Save the ACR’s all those emails and obnoxious pings when they’re in the middle of doing something and just enter the access request in the system (as you’re supposed to!) and they will receive the approval request!

The bank is literally invested in guardian because ACRs gave feedback over the years that it is a huge inconvenience when people reach out to them all throughout the day.. so all they’re supposed to have to do now is approve requests for their area (NOT also continue to enter the requests.. and then approve their own entries).

You’re right- nobody wants to look anything up on flagscape.. they just want to ask others for the answers when it’s all on flagscape. People are lazy.

True, any employee can submit a request for access via Guardian. However, only an ACR at the requested site can approve/grant the access request. Tracking down an appropriate ACR is not an “incompetent” course of action.

We’re all on the same team. Let’s help each other out, especially since we’re all “doing the job of five people”.

ORRRRRRRRRR...

You can just help them. And smile. And they will refer others to you. And ALL OF THESE PEOPLE WILL KNOW YOUR EXPERTISE. AND THEY WILL ALL BE THANKFUL FOR YOUR HELP.

And when the time comes, and it comes for us all, all these people will be contacts for you, so when you ask them "Hey, are you hiring?", they will think "Holy smokes, its that one person that helped me and helped everyone else too!" and maybe they will just say... "Yes, I am", to you specifically. So you keep your family fed.

Or you can just keep being petty, whatever. Who cares.
