I have not returned to office since 2020 and my Manager just asked me to start thinking of coming soon 3 days a week. How has RTO been in Charlotte? I moved and am considering moving back. Are folks in 5 days a week?

Since this year it has got more crowded. Last year was a lot of fun. Empty offices and easy Parking.
Now its getting back to pre pandemic times in some ways. They keep moving people around trying to cram people in smaller areas. But its not that bad
Nothing more expensive that 'affordable housing'. That said, it's unquestionably true that a large swath of the commercial real estate market needs to shift uses and quickly. Investors will get hammered, but better pennies on the dollar than a total loss. The faster we transition away from 20th century workplace ideas the better off we'll be.
Only move back if you preferred your life there.
It's empty. You will be by yourself.
Why should you have to turn your whole life upside down to accommodate this company's misguided and old ways.
We need to remind them that WE produced RECORD PROFITS while WORKING FROM HOME, from which they were paid and benefitted greatly.
They are worried about their Commercial Real Estate portfolio (which is a real risk), but with the "housing shortage" we continue to hear about in the news every frickin' day, they should just convert all those corporate highrises into affordable housing. Won't pay as much as commercial leases, but the investors and private equity firms knew the risk when they took the bet. They're supposed to be smart. Oh well.)
