Anyone know why most Syracuse folks are somehow exempt from having to go into office to work 3 days while the rest of us do? They Can’t say it’s distance or travel cause I have several on my team traveling just as far from other areas

7ckj+1oj85gqv - you seriously need to get a life . You post same nonsense on multiple threads and it’s tiring . Get a hobby already . Mad cause you got canned ?
I just don’t understand how Syracuse gets an exemption from coming into work. It’s just not fair. It should be all employees swiped in and working in or nothing. Special sites with special attendance rules for the in crowd I’d total B.S.
YOU are the liar, @9vfm and here is the proof.
@4ehs+1oiD50d3
Where's YOUR evidence that Charlie said ANYTHING about Oriskany?
Liar…
Nobody ever said that Scharf closed Oriskany, not even once. Scharf DID on the other hand give them a heads up hat Oriskany would be closed within 4 years and now it is happening.
Oriskany will be closed. stay tuned for an announcement very soon
At the risk of stating the obvious, Roman Regelmann has been working on this five year plan to automate 85% of the jobs/positions and close all but two locations in the US for six years and counting.
Likely that jobs are going nowhere.
@4hya, she's making is up.
Who has exemptions? I’m a Syracuse employee and have been commuting for over a year. I don’t know 1 person with an exemption. You say most Syracuse employees have these exemptions but I see most of the people from the Syracuse office here in Oriskany. What are you even talking about?
2oxn+1oj85gqv - where are you getting your info
Charlie never mentioned Oriskany, much less closing it.
A four year heads up from Charlie that Oriskany would close ought to be enough for anyone. Sheesh…
Five year plan is to automate 85% of the jobs positions and close all but two locations in the US.
All central NY offices will be closed. Oriskany is the last. If you can’t read the tea leaves, that’s on you. Hang in there and make the company pay us severance.
@2ldv, or maybe they're confusing it with the closure of the downtown Syracuse office that we leased.
You lie, @2old. In fact, in Syracuse we were told that they were planning to add another wing on the building. Surly you could post a link to ANY evidence. A simple google search for "bny mellon closing sanders" will show it was announced by Uncle Todd in January of 2021. We were asked about commuting to Oriskany a few months before that.
You're either lying or confusing it with our closure of the DR site outside of Utica.
If you don’t want to work or travel to whatever site then quit . Problem solved. Most of you aren’t strong employees anywhere and are getting paid to do nothjng anyway
@1vxr+1oj85gqv - both locations were told during town halls is accurate and it was in your newspaper saying they planned to be fully exited from that location in 2021. Announcements were made long before everyone was sent home for covid cause your location lost how many people when that happened? So nice try and that was 3 years ago so no none should be exempt now . Plus most of you do not come in office and you never came to Oriskany for annual testing when Utica facility was sold either. We wasted time moving stuff around and adding computers for nothing for you lazy people
Pull yourselves together peoples… it’s a commute for God’s sake. It’s been an utterly normal arrangement for well over a hundred years. This is the whiniest generation in U.S. history
@1gqk+1oj85gqv - and you’re just as bad as 1kf. Unethical ? It’s called their job and they have no issue making the rest of drive a ridiculous distance so oh well . Don’t want to drive it then quit . That building was sold over 3 years ago and we’ve been back in office a 1.5 years now so cry a river elsewhere
Uh we weren’t told pre-covid. We were told a year into the pandemic that they were closing the office. Nice try though. Also, my team has been and still does make the commute 3 days a week so what are you even talking about? I see Syracuse people in the office all the time - from all different departments.
1kft+1oj85gqv - and yet here you are commenting
Does it all really matter? They will be closing the Oriskany office and most jobs will be relocated. Perhaps the bank may want to keep staff that have deep client relationships as opposed to ops that operate as robots.
we overheard Syracuse management Wednesday, talking about a lot of employees being permanently work from home and waiting for the approvals to go through,
Where do any of you get it’s up to your mgr ? It’s a bank wide rule and because half the bank isn’t following it , they’re now tracking everyone , holding people accountable and it’s in your review so yes you can be terminated as well.
Hate to break it to you but no , distance can’t be the excuse! They were all told pre covid the building was sold and they have to report to the new location. Those who didn’t want to stay , quit. Those who agreed, stayed . so now all the sudden they’re exempt from traveling more than a year after we got told we had to go back in office. Nice try! Let’s make it fair since it’s a bank wide instruction to all not based on your mgr . hence the reason it’s now being tracked and now in your reviews
@eip+1oj85gqv - sorry to break it to you but they knew pre-covid the building they were in was sold and they were moved to another location. Those who didn’t want to commute quit. This is supposed to be a bank wide requirement hence why it’s now on everyone’s review. So if they are making special accommodations for one group, it should be across the board
People that can’t be bothered to commute for a living should be at the top of the displacement lists, without SUB.
This does not apply to those who were hired as WFH.
They CAN say it's distance because these people were hired to work much closer so it's not right to suddenly make them drive that far. The people on your team with long commutes knew what they were getting into when they were hired.
I believe managers have a say in that piece, don't they? My managing director changed our actual titles to keep us all in the flex remote category.
