No one ever, or rarely talks about exactly which department they work in. Personally, I am in Prepaid Fraud, call center and work from home. Mostly because we do not have an office to go to. I absolutely hate it and can not wait for changes to be made, if any… I will be looking which will flush 10+ years away — but, looking at 100% remote NON call center and people making zillions more than I do now doing the same thing — I have to do it. We will be without our contract 2024/2025 so they say. So either lay off or reploy into who knows where. Most likely they will fire me before I get layed off or put somewhere else, and I’ll be okay with that to. Must might be the push I need. I mess up no doubt, but no one is 100% perfect. No one.

Update your resume and apply for different jobs.
call center employees need to organize now. a collective bargaining contract across all US call centers would very beneficial to the employees. Also, there are so many salaried employees who would never qualify as exempt from overtime if their job functions were actually scrutinized beyond the hr description. big bank employees would make a powerful union workforce.
I have worked for over 12 years in this bank with many band 5’s that do not have a college degree and make $100k+ a year plus bonus. You sure about needing a college degree these days?
Yes! I am in it too and hate call center work so much!! There is no where else to go though at my age. I have experiences but no college degree which everyone wants today. Back in my day I could not afford to go to college. I might be old, but I am not dead yet! I can not see sticking around for hopes of a severance. My mental and frankly, physical health is suffering too much. Good luck to you. Good luck to us.
They are not offering severance in most areas rn just demotions disguised as repurposing/transfers/redeployments.
Wait until a layoff and get the severance.
I heard the same thing about the ending in 24-25 and am in the same group. It su-ks for sure. Lucky to wfh!
