So, since no one shares any info with our team, it’s planning to be Oriskany folks gone or moved by end of 2024?
Promotions!? I don’t know how this can be anymore clear to central New York employees, IT’S OVER. BNY Mellon has left the building. A handful of people already had conversations months ago about relocating to Pittsburgh. If you haven’t had this conversation already, you’re not in the club. Over 80% of the staff has been slated for elimination in 2024. The remainder in 2025.
The only purpose each and every one of us serves now, is to assist with the successful transition of our functions elsewhere. Congratulations to all those who have met or exceeded those expectations for 2023. Now let’s buckle down for the new year and stay on track.
The rumor is the staff is currently remote and supposedly is going to be asked to move to LM (ones they want to keep) and by end of '24 they plan to move all jobs to LM. All the Sr leaders are now sitting in LM.
Scharf told us about his pet unicorn too. Just look at the old posts and you'll see everyone raving about it. I won't bother posting any links to it because I'm not your mother. But try to prove me wrong...

Actually if you just hit the Older Topics link and look at the resulting URL you will see a 2 at the end. Change that to 65 or so and you get to posts from 2019. Of which I saw NOTHING about Chucky warning anyone about Oriskany closing.
I did however see a lot of the same posts that are currently being made.
Not much has changed.
I am not choosing to leave because I am afraid of my remote status. I am seriously sick of the place and what has been happening the last few years. I am constantly looking for something new. My job won’t be needed eventually anyway.

You shouldn’t leave just because you’re concerned they will lay you off for your remote wfh status. Company isn’t really worried about so many remote employees in CNY because the number will naturally decline due to normal turnover and retirement and no more jobs are posted in CNY. I know of at least 5 employees who have accepted external positions this fall and reqs to replace them are posted in Lake Mary NYC. Some were also laid off in the last round and it wasn’t because of their remote status
People talk about Oriskany because our building officially closed and houses a lot of important jobs. Who knows what will come of our jobs as they sure won’t want all of these people from Syracuse and Oriskany working from home permanently since they are so worried about being in office. I am hoping to get out of there before they make their decision. I have spent way more time there than I thought.
I agree. Oriskany people began to post that Scharf let them know that their facility would be closed in four years and it was so.
All of us read that here and for me I had never even heard of Oriskany. Now it’s all you read here it seems.

Not sure that anyone would put stock in a poster who refers to “The interweb” which is the most effective way to demonstrate technological ignorance. You must be ExCo and your secretary wrote this as you dictated.
@9igw, it's easier to check Google since they easily index sites like this. And it shows you're the only one posting anything about Charlie and Oriskany. Other than a few posts showing how impressed he was when he visited the site. You can still find photos on our interweb if you're actually an employee.

You keep saying this but give no evidences whatsoever. You claim people posted about it on here yet google proves that's incorrect. You can't say when he said it, to who, or how.

Oriskany workers had a meeting about a month ago and we were told that all BAH Syracuse and Oriskany workers will be let go within 18 months.

In my opinion, and those of some long time coworkers, facts still matter. And the facts are that Scharf warned us that Oriskany would be closed within four years and it was.
Pittsburgh has been the armpit of the Bank ever since BONY acquired us, raided our pension plan and dragged us back to the 1980s. I’d almost rather work in India than here.
What is the obsession on this forum with Oriskany?
Of course a few favored individuals will quietly be moved from Oriskany based to BAH.

Of course Scharf didn’t stick around. It was at least four years ago.
But facts are facts and Scharf did indeed inform Oriskany that it would be closed in four years… and four years later he was proven dead on correct.
This was announced here by so many Oriskany employees 4/5 years ago. Many took their time with a relaxing and careful job search.
some of you need hobbies. Yes there are promotions, yes there are increases for Oriskany . Yes there are more layoffs coming in December and January. Same that always happens so find something else to make everyone freak out about cause this isn’t it
Not sure where some of you get your info but I have staff on my team , yes from Oriskany, being promoted and yes there are merit increases . Stop spreading garbage on this site already

I know several in Oriskany were offered the chance to go to Pittsburgh or Lake Mary, many said they couldn't afford to move because of the cost of housing, and the pay being so bad.
