Thread regarding Bank of New York Mellon Corp. layoffs

Let’s make a list of what our leaders have stolen from us…

Perpetual Interest Free loan of current employees’ 401K match to the Bank for their use.

Theft of 401K match if employee leaves

Theft of Bonus if retire before payout.

Loss of accrued vacation if terminated, retired or resigned, even with good leaver process.

I’m sure that there are many more….

For BNY employees, profit sharing was ended, in 2002 I believe was the year.

I think you really miss the point.
Please let me know you think how we are a more competitive organization offering less?
I left months ago and was told “If the grass is greener, then go somewhere else”. So I did just that. My new job pays more than double with better benefits. What do you think happens to BNYM with more people doing what I did?

HSA Match or contribution. They made is reward based and then completely removed couple of years later. (USA)
Moved from CIGNA/ Kaiser (good) Insurance provider to BCBS which is basically the basement bargain provider.

@2fxw, and that's after BNY got rid of the 2% bonus they paid based on your previous year compensation. We should have got one more bonus when they converted it to the original larger 401k match.

Don't forget stopping pension contributions in exchange for a measly once a year deposit to the 401(k).

@1cjc
The policy change lists states where accrued vacation time must be paid (i.e, there is a law regulating that). Other states not on that list may leave up to the employer the decision to pay or not.

Former BK here. Wow, things seems to be getting really bad. Are they really not allowing payout of vacation time? Is that even legal?

The last holiday party we had was 4 years ago. Wasn’t enough room in the budget for both a buffet and the EC’s salaries.

But hey, don't forget to donate to our PAC. Make sure your hard earned money is spent lobbying to offshore your job! (Fu-k you, Vince.)
