So many nondeserving promotions, simply an amazing place.

What do MDs and Directors even make?
No one would ever, ever even tell us.
Zero transparency.
I them all.
Let’s reason through this together.
An employee has likely worked very hard in Financial Services here and elsewhere for decades. Finally their career is capped off with a promotion to an MD and the reaction here is envy and jealousy.
Why wouldn’t you be happy for that employee?
Why wouldn’t you emulate that employee and try to better yourself?
What happened to you to make you so jaded?
Agree. Not happy seeing fully remote people get promoted when I got a bad review for being short one office day
Well, you could always just ask their managers why they were promoted and while you’re at it you might as well ask if it came with a raise.
Seriously though… you have no idea why they were promoted. Truthfully it always comes down to an employee working his/her tail off on tasks that his manager really values.
If you’re a career track employee with solid education and skills, your number one task is to successfully bring in major deliverables for your manager. Work late and weekends cheerfully if it’s an important project
Having a great solid career here really is that easy.
The sense of entitlement feeding frenzy continues. The MDs at this firm are some of the most arrogant and obnoxious people I've encountered during my professional career.
What rubs me the absolutely wrong way is that 2 of these promotions is "based Remotely" - how is that even possible to get promoted when we have in office policy with no exception. This place is something else and RV is manipulating people with his empty talk.
Second "representing every major region" - lol you mean New York - he is definitely something else our leader. But was is worse are these midlevel /lower level managers dancing to his pipe ! Bring down leadership down the ranks to appropriate level and let people manage with incentive and appreciation from the ground up.
They sent an email out yesterday with the list of names
Does anyone have a list of new MDs?
Do you them all?
50% of these were NYC/Jersey City. 2 were Pittsburgh. Writing is on the wall regarding what they think of those outside of Greenwich. I'd love to know what % of the MD promos were former JPM and GS.
Time for employees to rate Batman, Robin, and business leaders. I'd love to see results posted on front page my source. My guess, we have many partial achievements and do no meet expectations. Let's keep paying these boys and girls to make horrible decisions.
How is RR still running the largest business?
The message and timing was pretty tone deaf with all the cuts being made elsewhere and people losing their jobs as part of "budget cuts." But don't do something that makes more sense and skip promos for this year.
Please define "Big Buck"...
MDs do make the big bucks. Quite sure that they’re very happy with salary, bonuses and options.
Promotion in title does not equal increase in pay in this company, especially if one is already in the minimum range of the next level…
Company with fluff you with fancy titles but not pay out. Pittsburgh staff know this all too well. Lies and deceit from all leadership levels.
Guessing & bet the “ promotions” are in name only.
My boss a couple years ago got “promoted “and got nothing but an empty promise of future pay increases which hasn’t happened.
By taking away from others and RIF
How will they pay for their salaries.hmm
