Are we in non competes?

Not at all in a noncompete… we compete like he-l to be the first out at 5:00 every day.
@1NT, very few people have contracts too.
@1yub, they can't enforce non-compete even if you leave on your own.
This also brings up a question, how long between time Robin left Goldman and he started here? Surely at his level Goldman had him in a non-compete.
The non-solicit was in the horrible ‘you must give 30 day notice’ (grade-dependent) thing they forced us to sign last year. Non-solicit is different than non-compete and they can’t enforce a non-compete if they lay you off. They can’t prevent you from getting employment elsewhere if they laid you off and you have no job. Although many say they’re hard to enforce even if you quit, though I’m no lawyer.
I never signed a non-compete but my letter agreement for sub pay has a 1 year non-solicit clause.
That would depend on your role. Very, VERY few people have non-compete terms in their contracts, nothing that we mere mortals have here.
