This is not new news. This is just now listed because of the other businesses also closing in the area to shed light to what is happening in this area and thanks to the economy. Multiple locations were closed not just oriskany. Which makes no sense always known as the low cost location. Chicago prior, texas , florida etc. the locations that need to go as very gogh cost and incompetent workers is india, PA and NYC
Whoever it is defending the company, clearly looks down upon Oriskany. Simply read "because of the way WE treat THEM" below...disgusting...
If you're curious, just ask folks from Syracuse how it went before their site was shut down... Layoffs, no job postings, no promotions, managing through attrition, site closure. Retain 15% of workforce. Offer relocation to nearest site.
Rinse & Repeat.
If you've been there awhile, get your severance package. Or if your nearing retirement, stay, let them make a mistake by gifting you weeks of pay before you draw from your retirement. If you haven't been there more than 4 years, I'd suggest you pack up and go before the wave of unemployed start searching for a job.
