They should have asked us if anybody was willing to take a package. I'd have been happy to say yes. I've been looking for something else for months and getting severance would have worked perfectly for me. Sadly, now somebody who really didn't want to lose their job is gone and I'm still here. They should have asked for volunteers.

The gag is ,if one willingly quits ,he or she doesn’t qualify for severance package (about 3 -5 months pay ) after which they can qualify for unemployment with the state income indefinitely as for as long as they don’t have a job .
Then quit?
