New Dublin office

https://m.independent.ie/business/bny-agrees-deal-to-move-into-marlets-shipping-office-building-in-dublin/a1564899595.html

With the cost of staff in the Dublin office, this makes no sense.

Are the C-Suite folks in Dublin shutting down the other offices in Ireland to feather their nest yet again?

Also, whilst the commercial property market is tanking BNY invests🤔

To 'Schmucks', who is this 'Ireland Head' you speak of?
Safe to say he's wearing the Dublin jersey anyway😉

The size of the new Dublin office is intriguing 🤫

It says a few things:

  1. The 'Ireland Head' is effectively a 'Champion for Dublin', he rarely leaves The Pale. Winner winner chicken dinner🎉
  2. Poland and Pune are very direct as regards scooping up roles; Dublin is playing a more discreet (and longer game) to scoop up as many roles as possible to "feather their nest" as said earlier.
  3. Location Strategy must be finalised a long time ago and its being worked through🤡
  4. The money spent on Dublin offices over last few years was for nought.

@1dwn Buy low sell high. Commercial real estate is a great buy now.

How long is the lease for? Move two locations into one, close and move out of the area. That’s their MO

It's a great time to lease new office space in Dublin as lots of supply. They aren't buying the building.
It will save money having everyone in the same building and not having 2 receptions, canteens, mailrooms, security etc.
Renovating Riverside over covid was the waste of money.

They’ve been looking to consolidate offices for years. Good opportunity given commercial RE is in the toilet.
