The Academy has started laying off!

John Jordan leaving the Academy (about 3-4 months ago) was eye opening - and going to a competitor. One of the more respected and integrity filled employees the bank has had on the leadership team over the last several years. I figured that spelled bad news in that org.
The Academy needs to go. No such thing as career development or career pathing with the “tools” the academy has flooded us with. There is no career development here. You are shuffled around like cattle. The only career pathing upward movement is if you are DEI you can stay employed for years not having experience for the job only to keep the DEI quota.
It’s very discouraging to see this happen.

Seriously though, what is the point of the academy? Or rather, who has actually benefited from it? It’s full of hours long courses on DEI that nobody, literally nobody uses. It’s not like there’s an upside to doing any of the management courses. It doesn’t pad your resume or advancement prospects.
Those academy courses are all just boring vaporware.
There are too many D&I that are just putting their hand out for free paychecks. Get rid of them. The freeloaders are the reason for lack of raises and bonuses.
Turn it around.

They will be replacing them with robots to do the training. Many companies are already utilizing this and are getting promising results.

The Academy? As in the group responsible for all the online classes? No one is going to miss them, that's for sure.
