North Pointe Data Center Sold

I noticed no one commented about the data center being sold/closed. An article about that was in the Pittsburgh Tribune Review on Wednesday.

It has been fairly well-known for over 3 years that North Pointe was to be closed. They had two large buildings at one point. Sold one off and the second just took a little longer to offload.

The whole ‘Pittsburgh no longer a growth Center’ thing is interesting. RV was the exec sponsor for the Pittsburgh growth location prior to becoming CEO. The irony that it could now (or soon) be relegated to fighting for its life like so many other locations. Maybe dropping the “Mellon” name was a hint.

There is also a hiring freeze in Pittsburgh. In addition, no more contractors.

Some have noticed that Pittsburgh is not being called a growth center lately. This is more proof to be seen. They sold this Pittsburgh data center for just $5.5M and called it: a “strategic consolidation”.
