Thread regarding Whole Foods Market Inc. layoffs

Stock Price for week after Thanksgiving, Friday close: $29.54

This hurts. I was going to make a snide comment, but this stock price IS the snide comment. Ouch.

Being labeled a "rock star" is synonymous with being incapable of critical thinking. These are the people that become team leaders, they are all a bunch of untalented yes men.

The term 'rock star' has worried me for awhile. Not always, but usually if someone is coined this, they are completely incompetent and working their way up, or are competent, efficient, and soon discover they have no place in this company and they gtfo. Just my experience with this term.

Re: "Assertively evolve functional customer service"...... I got those phrases from the corporate jargon generator site I found online. It's fun because all those phrases sound like our town halls and conference calls. I remember one jargon-filled escapade where a team member asked why it was necessary to grow so fast, implying that it was in fact causing serious operational problems and a sense of chaos. Glenda replied, "Well we aren't just opening new stores, we're CHANGING THE WORLD. So I don't know about you but I want to do that as quickly as possible." Way to use the core values to make the questioner look bad and as an excuse for your rush to cash out, you {insert expletive here} phony. I hope your $1 billion in new IOUs get downgraded to junk bond status and your stock goes to $10.

Yeah, we're all waiting for what will happen on jan 4th. It will not be pretty, but hopefully they'll lay off themselves instead of people who were actually useful and now assets of another company.

Anyone that believes the nonsensical jibberish uttered by management during their quarterly investor conference calls is a credulous dumbass. The conversation goes something like this: "In an effort to collaboratively revolutionize customer-focused marketing, we will holisticly redefine an expanded array of options. To assertively evolve functional customer service, we will professionally orchestrate cross-media synergy in our outreach efforts. By quickly aggregating leveraged quality vectors, and investing in technologically advanced data integration strategies, we hope to provide a platform to dramatically negotiate end-to-end unified cloud systems. Blah blah blah conscious leadership core values shiny happy team members big money for us look we're still in charge." In case none of that made any bloody sense whatsoever, we will now take your questions.
