Thread regarding Whole Foods Market Inc. layoffs

This 'restructuring' is messed up

Hi people that have moved up the company ladder through blood, sweat, and tears and time away from family because we are a retail business. To be told, as an ASTL, that you have to compete with the other one in the store and only one of you comes out as the 'winner" is NOT WHOLE FOODS. What I learned through my 10 years with WF's is 'one team, one store', 'shared fate'. This 'restructuring' is not promoting that mentality anymore. We are fighting against each other for our livelihoods. This is not the WF's I know., so yeah we are 'alarmed' and outraged.

It's OK, if you really think about. Look, if you're really fed up and disgusted, leave. It's your right. What I find amusing is that the E team can't leave so easily. They at least have to squirm and wriggle in front of GoldmanSachs, and that's worth something. They can blame STLs, TLs, and TMs, but anyone with a functioning business brain (GS has plenty of those, guaranteed), are looking right through their bullshit. I love this really, this is great. As sociopathic and unfeeling as they seem to us, GS is 100 times that to them. Talk about karma.

My friend you are so right and articulate. Although this forum is simply a sounding board at least the truth comes out! We move on....sadly WFM is not who they tried to show the public. My friends cannot believe I got paid so little and worked in such a TOXIC ENVIRONMENT. We weren't even given a pumpkin pie for Thanksgiving! But the STL GETS A BIG PIECE OF THE PIE....YECK IS ALL I HABE LEFT TO SAY

Obviously global "management" is a fan of the Hunger Games series. Concepts such as "conscious leadership" and "shared fate" and "core values" are just marketing slogans now, both internal and external. Hey look at us! We're not just retail executives, we're changing the future of management itself and even capitalism through inclusive, transparent decision-making and zen consciousness. What a load of utter bull***t. I became convinced long ago that all of this cult-like proselytizing was just propaganda designed to take the focus off all the nepotism, managerial incompetence, dictatorial and defensive attitudes and overall disorganization that is right in front of our eyes. We blamed the train wrecks and horrible decisions on this particular individual or that particular region because. Now we know that our Dear Leaders are just self-aggrandizing egomaniacs who really don't know what they're doing and have simply used the "values" shtick to create a massive storehouse of personal wealth for themselves and their buddies.
