It has been apparent in many cases talent, experience, ability, value, performance all too often does not matter in people selected. Many people are less than stellar performers but there are also some associates who are people who are great performers and one has to assume have received great reviews and recognition in their past. Given that results obviously are not going to shield you, why would you continue to go above and beyond in this climate? Only answer I can see is one has nothing better to do between now and receiving a package so work is as good way to pass the time as any. I would plan to throttle back the effort at least until the bank puts a stop to this shit or until I have package in hand. Of course if it ever does stop I assume I will never look at this job as a long term endeavor ever again, always be waiting for the next round, and well, they probably know that so why would they stop and keep any of the current folks around. As someone has said before on this board - this company culture is toxic.

That's right, only the best leave or are let go from Bank of America! Been that way since the big Qtz was being implemented. Even the leaders and best of that team were let go! Arrogance knows no bounds!
In technology, the people I see being cut are the higher talented ones with bigger salaries. They're trading talent for cheap labor. It's laughable to see the idiots they've kept here while the really good ones were let go...
