What do you think about the"German" grocery retailer ? How do u see there current and future situation? I know they committed this past year to sell more organic and natural items and they launched a brand focused on baby food as well.

We don't have a TJs so I shop now mostly at their corporate twin Aldi. My favorites are their natural/organic products...Awesome taste, quality and LOW prices. The bleached flour gets on my nerves of course...won't touch it, so I buy unbleached elsewhere. But the European products and deals on paper towels, conventional and organic fruits and vegetables, nuts and frozen foods more than compensate. I even bought a $20 Wifi repeater that works perfectly -- a special purchase at Aldi. As far as working there, no way, but I do shop there and I'm always seeing Whole Foods type people in there who are smart enough to recognize a good deal when they see one. Still wish we had a TJs though...last time I was in the one in Raleigh it was PACKED with people and no wonder. Also I know an associate there who says as far as grocery retail goes it's awesome. They do a lot of different jobs and most customers just love the place.
We could use some of these German grocers and their grocery engineering to clean up Austin. Hard work = good pay - all the lip service and hugs...
German grocers are just out to take market share by aggressive pricing and making shopping as easy as possible - no complications - go in, leave money and you are out. Wholefoods is obsessed with retail theater - they want to build the St. Peter's square of retail, no time for that as every Jim and Jack is chasing the same dollar. With time all the b---s--- is out on full display and customers are questioning everything.
Another key point to note is that, these German grocers do not hide in well crafted catch phrases to fool workers like "Team member happiness" they just mean business - work hard for us, we pay you and that's it. Nothing like setting up useless high expectations. In short wfm is broken and it will take an act of God to fix it. Let's see what happens on this coming financial call.
