Thread regarding Whole Foods Market Inc. layoffs

Anyone notice ?

What was supposed to be attrition has turned into a witch hunt to simply fire people. It seems lately that people are getting separated for the littlest things. That cutting payroll seems to be done by trimming the fat at the top.

Just before the mass layoffs and restructuring things got really weird at my location. It seemed like STLs were looking for reasons to rid themselves of people they didn't like. I got written up for performance for the first time in my more than decades long career in a vague and unfixable way. Then I heard of multiple TLs/ATLs around the city that had the same things happening to them. When I left even more TLs/ATLs started to leave, great people who I admired. It all had a suspicious feeling to it. And then they eliminated positions and combined teams suddenly. By this point I am lucky I got out when I did and all those great TLs who left were smart. Who wants to have double the amount of responsibility with zero support with no pay raise. A total joke at this point with no real path to getting better.

I have to agree with the witch hunt. My store is harassing T.L.'S and T.M.'S. They do play favorites. THey are after the high paying ones that honestly do work theirs tails off!

Unless of course you are an a-- kisser and don't do anything.

i know because i have seen it first hand.

If you do a great job and aren't one of their favorites, they will do whatever it takes to find some kind of flaw with you then counsel you and write you up.

it's such a shame they have people like this in upper mgmt. How they got in those positions is beyond me.

And if your a hard worker and are a high paying T.L. or T.M. look out because you will be under their radar forever until they succeed in getting rid of you. STart looking for another job would be my suggestion, unless you want to stick it out, get terminated and collect unemplyment. If you feel you are getting harrased and feel the need to notify T.M. services then do it, maybe they'll get rid of some of those high paying STL'S AT'LS AND ASST. COORDIATORS. Plant the seed!!

Well I cannot say a witch hunt is underway at my locale in Austin. If anything they seem grateful for the hard workers left. No one gets written up unless you deserve it at my store. Everyone seems sensitive to the lack of labor to achieve the almighty s.o.p. stuff. I just wonder how much longer we can keep this up before sales plummet?

What really gets me is that they wont do anything about the "bad apples" who literally get away with not doing their work daily. To me that is more of a waste of labor to have those people on your clock over the long standing higher paid tms who vust their butt. Oh but the teachers' pets "have a family" Give me a break!! This is a business.

Yes! I am a 7 year tm and I rock at my job. I work in produce, floral, and wb. Managment is constantly trying to blame me for not covering or fixing others mistakes. I am trying to hold on for hopes of severance. Going down wjth this sinking ship! Possibly have a harrasment or a discrimination case on my hands.
