Thread regarding Broadridge Financial Solutions Inc. layoffs

Broadridge Financial layoffs

July/Aug layoffs. Broadridge laying off employees and it is terrible. They are getting rid of the 50+ age group with two to three decades of service. It is because of thier latest acquisition. They threw in a couple of non 50+ to make it non age discriminatory. Why layoff these individuals? There are other positions in the company open. These valuable assests could have been moved into those openings. Disgusting how they were treated. They came to work and were escorted off property not able to take thier personal belongings, stripped of thier phone and computer. Personal belongings packed by another employee and shipped in boxes to thier homes. Disgusting Daly and Gorkey. More layoffs to follow. Company is constantly doing reorg charts as upper management can't get it together.

This was shortly after I started. They do it every four years apparently that is what “ready for next” slogan means. Are you ready for your next job? Lol. This company should never be considered a lifetime career. It is a convenient stepping stone. I’m grateful for the opportunity to gain some experience in ambiguous categories that are difficult to describe on a resume while also getting a pay check I guess. But this company pays crummy and they treat current and former employees like a-s.

This is getting to be an annual thing. Lot of people -- again, mostly om the 50+ crowd - have been let go in May/June 2024.

Next up: new employees that are half the age with a lot less experience will be hired in the next 60-90 days. Rinse & Repeat next year.

I know this was written in2017 and comments 2018 and 2019 . . . But true to form it just happened again. June 2023 where are the regulators? How can this be allowed over and over again?

History is repeating itself. BR had another round of layoffs this past summer (again, mostly the over 50 crowd with a few others thrown in so it "look legit")

Something must be going on over there, a lot of people are heading towards the exit on their own too.

Look back on my post on Feb 18. 2019. I said I expect to be writing a follow up. Well, it’s July 2020 and I’m still standing! I was brainwashed with ‘Be indispensable’ so maybe I am? Ha ...

I know it’s just a matter of time but, I keep truckin and yes, well over 50.

They targeted the 50+ group again this past June (and a few in April/May, 2019). A total of 25 at the end of June, 16 were 50+ and most had a decade or more of service. Within 3 weeks, some jobs posted to support similar work (or more work) with less pay and a lower title. Most who left or laid off in California aren't getting replaced. The replacement jobs are in KC or another location not in CA. They don't pay severance, you get supplemental unemployment insurance, they end your medical the day you leave and unless you sign their agreement (you don't get anything). Only up side is they let you go back and clean out your own desk. A lot of people are now leaving, either with or without a job. Those left behind will be expected to pick up their work. And, they'll most likely lay off more around the end of 2019.

Two very experience PMs and a developer intern left the company at EDH in the last two weeks. Another Senior QA is now moving to a different department. Too much stress and work to handle. VPs are replacing people with more from India and College interns. Stay away from Client Solutions. Better yet, stay away from Broadridge. Get your experience somewhere else. Eventually, developers and QAs will be replaced with India workers in India or low wage College Interns.

I am turning 50, and yes -- I'm about to be laid off (from Newark office). I am a perfect example of what the guys are saying on this thread -- it costs Broadridge too much money to keep me around.

Funny, thing is that they simply can't replace me with anyone on-shore or off-shore -- the skill set is very hard to find. All the same, thanks for the info. I'll pack my things and take them home before they do it for me. Can anyone share what kind of severance package can be negotiated?

I love working for this Company with all the changes that we have all been through (IBS, USCS, DST, BRCC, more to come ... )

This business model is now obsolete due to easy access of billing information through the internet. Since revenues are driven by the volume of statements being mailed out, if the Company fails to sign a "BIG" client, it will be very difficult to generate enough revenue to sustain the print business of the house.

Let's reevaluate where we stand in 18 months, I wish the Company and its hard working associates continued success.

When you hit 50 at Broadridge, you might as well start packing up your personal belongings.

You simply make too much money and nobody there could give a rats a-- if you have a family or not.

Meeting their numbers will always be more important than loyalty

over 4000 employees in India now -

Broadridge is the absolute epitome of corporate greed.

the 50 plus age group is definitely the target, they replace them with offshore employees.

I was laid off in Feb 2018 along with 59 others. Most of us were in the +45 age even according to their own internal document. I thought I had a career, instead I had an opportunity to "re-invent" myself. I was also assured that the job market is great and I should get another position quick.....now almost July and still looking.

I was held back by my management from obtaining certifications that would have meant all the difference in my new career...the career of looking for a career.

What people are saying is true. People who are 50 years or older, and have lot of years in are getting laid off. I also heard that they have a big offshore stafff in India that they are trying to push new development projects too. Eventually, they will get rid of most developers and QAs and rely on only offshore for future projects.

Why no postings about the late May 2018 layoffs??? How many domestic versus off-shore (cheap labor) and managements' sacrifice (right)? Too bad Broadridge doesn't invest more in domestic labor than foreigners - spare me the "global economy" rhetoric pointy heads and your robot's canned replies...

I'll bet they didn't layoff any "offshore" (foreigners for you Rio Linda residents) personnel, except maybe a token one here and there. Makes one wonder why President Trump isn't doing something about all these high tech jobs that will never come back to the once great USA.
