It's really hard. I've been a combo TL for 9 months now and everyday I feel like it's my last day. Whether I walk out because the stress is too much or I get fired because we are always forever behind. My ATL's and buyers are all new so it s---s. I can see it working better with experienced ATL's and buyers.

We have had a three team combo for over a year now. We were OTS certified six months ago. One Team Leader and three ATLs. Weekly store sales a bit over 550k.

It works...fairly well.

Combo teams are not a bad thing in the smaller or slower stores but to put three teams together is overwhelming in any store. I can see Meat and Seafood, PPFDS, Produce, Bakery and Specialty, Wholebody, and Grocery as teams. If it is a really small store maybe combine Grocery and Wholebody but not in a bigger or high sales store. There is way too much to do, and this ridiculous position of saying don't use labor cuts as a reason things are not getting done is BS. Buyers in the store I work at do way more than just buy and do tags. They also work back stock, throw the truck, clean the dept. and backrooms/coolers, make displays, market specials, signage, etc. How do these buyers get away with just buying and tags and then just walking around like they think they are in Regional I would like to know. Our ASTL's and STL work on the floor stocking and helping the teams out everyday and they would not allow Buyers, ATL's and TL's to get away with that. We do all that and still are not making labor but are killing ourselves trying to get it done. Three team combo would be death.

I personally think combo teams was huge mistake. It's cost our store sales more than it's saved and has created a morale problem. There is just more stuff slipping through the cracks going undone. Since regional folks announce their visits ahead of time the store has time to appear to fix everything when in reality it looks awful 90% of the time.
