Thread regarding Whole Foods Market Inc. layoffs

Marketing severance

Is it possible to legally take Whole Foods to court and ask them to give us more options for severance pay?

It doesn’t seem right they are technically forcing us to stay and pay us biweekly in order to avoid unemployment. It should be our call to as for a large lump sum and get out of this greedy business.

In order to receive severance, 2 additional stores are opening in my region before the June deadline. So stay, and help open a couple of stores, a point in time when they are actually very needed, or leave and miss out on severance...

Fl UnEmployment is 275/week for 8 weeks. No one should be wishing a layoff.

If u wrk less than 1 yr get out now. No need to suffer. More than 1 yr just chill till July 2 n get ur two weeks or more of free money. They cant get fired u unless u do something silly like not showing up to wrk or stealing. If u on a final then just get out. They’ll fire you for sure bef july 2. Greed has no shame. Last round of layoffs thats wat happened. Anyone who was on a final they found any excuse to fire them. Good luck all. Titanic is sinking fast. BeZOBs!!! Soon coca cola producs n junk food near your whole fools store. Now all regional buyers will be out MAGA make @$$#0!€$ great again

You’ve got to be kidding me. It’s a pretty generous severance.

I think it's their way to 1. Keep us til July so that we are there to cover for them while they finish the "No GA" transition, and 2. Get out of paying severance to employees who find a new job sooner. It's EXTREMELY greedy.

i agree. no case. but theyre also banking on people not giving a flip, ie: reasons to fire.

There’d be no case. Sorry. It s---s but it’s still more generous than other retail situations. It’d be nice for sure but no legal reason for them to be more generous so definitely doesn’t make sense to offer more or easier severance.
