Thread regarding Bank of New York Mellon Corp. layoffs

Any more info on BNY Mellon layoffs?

I've been hearing rumors at the office that we are looking at some major layoffs here and now I see people have been posting on this board as well about it.

Any chance somebody has more information, especially about the mentioned twenty percent cuts? Is that correct? Any news on when, where?

@VGKG0X1-4Ttvb. Absolutely. If that person was BE, then that person may have only been teetering the line as a potential layoff.

If your friend is already counted in the numbers, being on disability will increase his or her likelihood to be laid off.

The company will allow the employee to continue with short term and immediately upon returning, handle the layoff.

Short term costs the company significantly, especially if the employee repeatedly uses it every rolling 12 months. They are paying a salary and benefits for a job that person is not performing and placing a burden on other employees to carry the extra work.

A friend and coworker of mine had been on disability. Can they still get laid off on Aug 19? We have heard yes and no.

I heard major layoffs Aug 19 & the Monday after Thanksgiving. People in Brooklyn haven’t been given move dates because there is not enough space in the new building. A huge client is leaving in November so that is a whole team in ETF that will be let go. I heard whomever is left will be moved to Jersey City.

Confirmed layoffs of more workers this week in global CSD and other areas. Hearing much more January. 1 percent growth, lost client revenue and 3 percent expense is not good regardless of what they say. Core values are a thing of the past. Continue to hire jpmorgan execs indicating no internal talent. Charlie making his mark as a person who talks about family but could care less of our families. As i write this watching new hires from summer sitting around looking for work to do as old managers are no longer able to direct. Really smart to add people and then cut expereince. Heard of higher client complaints. Not how this company used to care about workers and stock price was much higher before outsourcing.

Cutting the severance packages would be particularly savage, but I wouldn't put it past them.

Heard not only 20%, but also they are cutting severance package to max out at 6 weeks. Loyalty is a 1 one street at that place.
