How can they tell you where you cant work!!! They laid me off last month. Then they tell me that I can't work for one of their direct competitors. I say, why not not; you fired me so I can work anywhere I choose.

How about if the severance is over?
They can if it's a condition of any severance package. If you want to work wherever you wish, just decline the severance. Your choice.
