Thread regarding Bank of New York Mellon Corp. layoffs

Today was tough, I have been at BNY for 2 years and was laid off.

I wasn't trained on much at all, but adapted the best that I could.

I've tried to stay positive each day at work with little support. This was a new industry for me but I did my work & learned, always was respectful in the work place.

I just turned 26 and now wont have health benefits. I was told I'll be paid until mid February.

My condolences to everyone, hopefully a new and better door opens for all of you!

You are 26 and at the beginning of your career. You will be fine. Take you skills and start a career at a good company with a future. It’s us old timers that might have a hard time finding something due to our ages.... Good luck!

I’m sorry you were laid off. I hope you find a better opportunity in the future as it seems like you tried you’re best in a difficult work situation. Best of luck!

They told me my package is based on how long I've been with the company which has been 2 years. I'll only paid until February 24th. It's been a frustrating day, good-luck to everyone and best wishes. Keep your heads up.
