Thread regarding Bank of New York Mellon Corp. layoffs

My job was eliminated yesterday

My job was eliminated yesterday, 1/14/19. It shocked me. Figured changes were coming but not this soon. I had 15 years in...would’ve been 16 in May. Others with similar experience let go too. At what cost will the remaining people, many of them young & new to the bank, be able to keep up. What are they thinking?

Even their annual Christmas has shrunk as well as Recognition dinners. Cheap for their employees ...saving the profits for the big whigs. So Wrong! I’m shocked & need to figure out my next steps but I feel badly for the folks still there that are hopeful & walking on eggs!

So long my coworker friends.

Sorry I didn’t get the chance to say goodbye. Prayers to you all. Darn you Charlie!

I am very concerned about my position. I returned from a leave not very long ago, and received a below expectations rating on my second half of the year performance, the first half of which I was in declining health and the remaining half of 2018 I was on leave. I also felt like I was being told BS things about my performance that I had NEVER heard previously...so hearing that there are more possibly this week has me really nervous. Just wish they'd do it.

With the severance package, were you able to keep your medical insurance?
