Thread regarding Bank of New York Mellon Corp. layoffs

I was laid off. Three months prior to being let go we were instructed to watch expenses. I spoke to my manager and said "you know what happens next? First its cut expenses, then its letting people go. He said don't worry that's not happening in this department. (nice!) 3 months later, see ya. I understand people get terminated. It's business, it happens. My issue is don't lie about it. (Because you absolutely know 3 months in advance when you are letting someone go). I've had to let people go. It stinks but at least I gave professional people a gentle "heads up" and treated them with respect.
