I am a former TTS engineer just thought I would share as story that summed up my viewpoint of Target culture and tech. This is true story for Target told to me by an old IBM Sales guy. He got a call saying "Jack, help! we are about to open our 100th... — read more
Did anyone else read JK's email and laugh at it?
Summed up: we are going to take 4 months to deliver reviews, assign new paygrades, and rollout another roadmap for a document full of half-truths that will be relevant for exactly never. Exciting times for transformation!!!
Another layoff?
I heard someone was fired just for farting. Anyone know if this is true?
Why no news about the upcoming layoffs? HQ, you know it's coming
Ask not to whom the 9AM Meeting Notice is sent; it's sent to you. How many people (besides me) are clearing out their desks? The rumour mills are turning but no news on this site... the site is passe'?
Overtime and Fall season policy changes? How do we know if it's pyramid wide as they say. Less persons allowed off and no canceling due to OT.
There's no such thing as a best practice book. I've asked. So sick of hearing changes are in the best interest to peons. "cuz Target cares of your well being" yet we can't bank Holidays to take time when we want. Want to save money. Stop being so... — read more

News flash, JP appointment to stores chief replacing TT..... JM is now confident we have many great "days" ahead. Uhh, shouldn't we be counting success in years or decades and not days?
They have a new way to get rid of people, without a public layoff.
They tell you that you're underperforming and that you can either give your two weeks or go on probation (and most look likely bwill get fired.) This has happened to two different peopl I know, who did not know each other. They both have said the... — read more
Another fail fast, unfunny, and employee unfriendly year is in the books for Target.
Happy new year everyone. Unfortunately, more of the same ahead.
How's TTS These Days?
I get laid off from TTS in September and I'm just wondering how things are going for everyone still there. It felt like some things were moving in the right direction (adoption of agile, continuous integration, etc) when I left. So what's it like?... — read more
Anyone have knowledge of how the new paygrades will work?
I can see the majority of us peons (EX and non-EX) in the company being lumped into one big paygrade that has a huge pay range scale. I assume all of the changes in titles within the top ranks is also a part of this new structure.
Any clue on holiday sales? Will my 401K look better? Will the stock move above $75?

Some people are getting lucky at some locations. Others not so much. Worth a try if you're reasonably close to a store. Here is the receipt http://imgur.com/LiaXDxn
store not following Target's own policies...request sent to corporate...corporate doesn't follow through... is this a sign of what's ahead?

Target is toast
So I just saw a guy caring a big a$$ Amazon box. Probably not by itself an unusual site, but he was walking through Target's Northern Campus headquarters. WTF, even it's own employees prefer Amazon and clearly don't care if anyone at Target knows it.
Target mobile wallet plans leaked.
Who wants to be the guinea pig to test this out and risk being part of a new data breach? Target couldn't even secure it's Christmas wish list registry data base properly.
Target is powerful and smart but not always good.
Sometimes Target corporate employee's are nice people-kind, friendly and outgoing. Most of them seem nice in the beginning. Then you start to sense that many of them have this sort of clone mentality. Everyone is a bit snobby, a little too preppy... — read more

TTS is so F_up I can't stand it. No one has clear direction.
I'm weeks not even months from leaving. Anyone who feels differently is just scared they won't be able to find a new job due to lack of skills or results to point to.
Target.com crash. Will someone be let go? Naaaa! There are promotions in waiting.

Maybe we could hire Jeff Bezos
He might be getting bored counting his BILLIONS. Wake up Target or go to sleep permanently.
"Target.com didn't crash! We slowed down the site on purpose! So there!"
On Cyber Monday, Target's website was slow or not working at all for many shoppers, a situation the retailer insists was not a “crash” but rather a tactical “metering” of traffic that kept people in line as they waited to shop or check out. According... — read more

Does it mean anything significant that both Target.com and Target Mobile went down at the same time?
If it were Target.com alone, I would expect something deep in the system broke. But if it's Target.com and Mobile, then might the flaw have something to do with a failure in the caching architecture? Or to restate this, any idea what caused this... — read more

Unemployment rate in MN at 3.1 percent. Target leadership should be very worried.
Can't recruit top talent any longer due to mismanagement of layoffs by BC and JK. Those remaining now have lots of opportunities and will be bailing soon. There is no opportunity left at Target, BC believes everyone is expendable except him and JM.
